Over 4 Weeks Chasing Refund – Poor Servi
I enquired about a Peugeot 2008 online and got a voicemail from Evans Halshaw Gainsborough but didn’t catch the caller’s name. When I phoned back, I explained this, and the person said he’d pass on the message—then hung up on me without letting me speak further. I tried calling again as I wanted to leave a deposit to secure the car before someone else bought it. No one answered—until I withheld my number, and it was picked up immediately. That was a huge red flag. Still, I placed a £99 deposit and drove over an hour from Hull with my toddler to view the car. It was filthy inside, scratched outside—completely misrepresented online. The sales exec admitted he should’ve sent a video. I declined to buy the car and was promised a refund. Over 4 weeks later, nothing. More unanswered calls, vague emails, and no follow-up after asking for a manager twice. Finally, I contacted head office, and the refund was processed within 2 days. The Gainsborough branch is a joke—zero professionalism. Never again.
