BEWARE OF CAR GIANT AT ALL COSTS BEWARE OF CAR GIANT AT ALL COSTS. please all of those given negative comments i am happy to come together and take this further, this is ridiculous. I purchased the Mercedes EQC Reg - on the 19th October, details of logged emails from the date of the purchase to all the faults called to complaint about the faults 1st report - 13th November 2024 Fault Noise as car drives 2nd report - 11th Feb 2025 Fault Dashboard showed an error sign 3rd Report 19th April 2025 Fault - Car moves and stops , moves and stops I purchased my vehicle in October 2024. While I was fully aware that it was a second-hand car, one of the main reasons I chose to buy from Car Giant—as I have done in the past—instead of a private seller, was the confidence and assurance your company provides regarding vehicle history and reliability. I expected that I was purchasing a car with no major faults and one that could be driven reliably for at least a few years. Unfortunately, this has not been the case. Shortly after purchase, I began to notice a strange noise while driving. I contacted Car Giant, and the vehicle was taken to Mercedes for diagnosis and repair. A few weeks later, I received the car back. However, not long after this, an error message appeared on the dashboard. Once again, I reported the issue, and the vehicle was sent to Mercedes and, I was told, repaired. Approximately a month after that second repair, while driving, the car began to stop intermittently. I could barely drive any distance without the vehicle cutting out. I reported the issue to Car Giant again and was advised to contact Mercedes directly to arrange for the car to be taken in. I was extremely disappointed to learn that I had to pay out of pocket to have the car towed to Mercedes. To add to my frustration, the customer service representative I spoke to at Car Giant was dismissive and rude, repeatedly insisting that the issue had nothing to do with Car Giant and that I was solely responsible for getting a software update, as advised by Mercedes. I fail to understand how a software issue could cause the car to completely shut down while driving. Nonetheless, I just wanted the issue resolved. Mercedes eventually informed me the software update had been completed and that the vehicle was ready for collection. However, when I went to pick it up and attempted to drive it away, the car stopped again—before I had even left their premises. Given the repeated issues and the significant inconvenience and distress this has caused, I have already requested—and I continue to insist on—a return and refund for this vehicle. I have not had any peace of mind or enjoyment from this car since the day I purchased it. It has spent more time in repair than on the road. I am no longer comfortable owning a car that has had so many faults from the outset, and I am particularly concerned about the potential costs and risks once the warranty period ends. And now barely 6 months car giant is trying to wash their hands off i am now calling car giant and they are telling me they cant take it further, i have barely got to enjoy this car only bought it Oct and since then it has being in and out in the mercedes garage and it will be there for weeks, so to be honest i have not even gotten to really drive this car. one problem after another. and now car giant being rude about it is not willing to help. how can you buy a car between 6 months and 1 fault after another . and now the car that will not start is right now in the mercedes workshop and cargiant refusing to do anything about it i am afraid that if i take responsibility it will cost me thousands a car i have barely gotten to drive. How is this fair. i would have taken my chances and bought a private sale and known that the responsibility is mine. but i trusted CAR giant.. Anyone reading please advice me who can i take to. i am writing to the Ombudsman but i need to take this further. so if anyone can tell me who to reach out to , i will also find out about lawyers. because this is ridiculous.
