Broken promises and warranty avoidance

I purchased a Kia Niro from Kia Solihull in November 2024. Right away, I noticed fog in the rear camera and moisture inside the headlight. I raised these issues on the day of collection with the sales executive, who assured me they would be covered under warranty and suggested I get them sorted at my local Kia branch due to the distance from Solihull. I trusted this advice and followed it in good faith. I contacted them again in February 2025 via email after multiple calls went unanswered, but received no real support. When I finally got the car inspected at Kia Brentwood in May, I was told the camera wouldn’t be covered, and I’d need to pay £768 out of pocket. I was also told Solihull’s manager claimed I “didn’t raise the issue early enough” — despite my photo evidence from December and written email from February proving otherwise. This situation is not about a “goodwill gesture” — it’s about honouring a warranty and standing by commitments made by Kia staff. I have now submitted a formal complaint to Kia UK. Until this is resolved properly, I cannot recommend Kia Solihull or the Kia warranty process. If you’re considering buying from Kia — get everything in writing and don’t rely on verbal assurances, no matter how confident they seem at the time.
