Disloyal, scam of a company
Purchased a Zafira off them that was 14 years old, 115k plus miles to use as a family car. Car was advertised on Autotrader as, I quote, HPI CLEAR / * MUST BE ONE OF THE BEST EXAMPLE'S ON THE MARKET * / EXCELLENT SERVICE HISTORY - SERVICE'S MAINLY CARRIED OUT BY MAIN DEALER ( VAUXHALL ) / MOT'D TILL MARCH 2026 / PRISTINE EXAMPLE THROUGH OUT / DRIVES LIKE BRAND NEW / P /X WELCOME / FIRST TO SEE WILL BUY!! After 8 days, car started to feel heavy and after 9 days the car started making a terrible noise and broke down with a number of kids in the car. I spoke to a garage around the corner who had a brief look and said it may be the cam belt but I needed to return it to the seller asap. I contacted them and was told I would have to wait until after Bank Holiday to speak to a Manager. Then I was told to send an email. Email was sent and I managed to get the car back to my house and a mechanic came to review the car and do diagnostics, at my expense. The report shows various problems and ultimately the car will not start and the DPF is absolutely ruined. I made The Car Warehouse aware of this and they have been argumentative and unsupporting. I was then told via email that they will not support with the issue or offer a refund, as they are legally bound to do under the Consumer Credit Act 2015, as, and I quote - ‘ you cannot now seek to raise any merchantable quality issues when the vehicle was sold as a scrap/non runner’. The car was advertised as £1490 but the bonnet was stiff to open, one of the windows wouldn’t work and the parking sensors do not work correctly so the price was reduced after negotiation. I had my children with me when I got this car and they knew it was to be used as a family vehicle. I am a single mother with limited funds and cannot afford to buy another car whilst I have to pay insurance and tax on one that will not work. No-one would buy a scrap car for £1375, it is clear from the original advert that at no point this was sold as scrap or a non runner and the customer service is dreadful. They also breached GDPR rules by giving us the previous owners full details. We have spoken to Solicitors and are now taking this to a Small Claims Case to get the money back for the faulty vehicle, at my expense. I am left without a car to drive to work or help with my childcare arrangements and this has caused a huge amount of stress on my family. The Car Warehouse also advertise as Jagland and the car advert showed Jagland in the background as if it had been sold by them. I have also reported them to Autotrader and will be reporting this to the Motor Ombudsman. Avoid this company.
