Poor overall experience

I will keep this review fair based on overall experience. Planned and quoted for our vehicle to be sold on consignment from this dealership. Figure was agreed, telephone conversation was fine. I was aware that upon arrival checks would be done to the car (as I would hope they would be). We were told from a number of colleagues that Ranj who was dealing with our query would be out in 5 mins or so due to a call. In which time checks were being carried out. We were waiting for over an hour for Ranj to come and see us, after numerous check ups and updates. To which case when we had said we would have left the car and done a few other things if it was going to be as long as it was, his response was dismissive and said quote “I’m not going to apologise for that” in quite a rude manner. Also saying that he had mentioned the timings over previous communications, which was not the case. To which point we decided it would be best to walk away. There wasn’t an introduction from him either, only up until the situation became heated. He did apologise if we felt there was a miscommunication but no accountability was taken. The final figure could not be agreed upon due to some minor work needing to be done to the car but truthfully, we would not have left our vehicle even if the original figure was honoured based on the encounter with that individual. This is no witch-hunt either to an individual but where we believe someone’s communication skills and customer service is lacking, we will mention it. Given we spoke to two other colleagues, Particularly the gentlemen with ginger hair who was very respectful and tried his best in updating us with the status of the query. It does feel that the social media presence of the individual has made him come across this way. One key point to add as well, the initial phone call regarding consignment was recording and uploading without informing myself of the intention to do so. However, in fairness to the team, when messaged, they did swiftly remove it. I firmly believe in the review I have given, because it certainly was a contributing factor as to why we decided against going with the business. Particularly as our acceptance figure was only £50 above the final figure offered to us.
