0 out of 5!!
I could give a 0 star I would. I put a deposit down on a car looking at it online. I negotiated the price down under the agreement there was no warranty. I wasn’t bothered about this as I have my own warranty company I use and they come in a lot cheaper so just made sense. This was a cash sale , simple and easy with no finance yet they still charge £99 admin fee 🤔… the dealer was notified 48 hours before I would be arriving to collect the car. On arrival it was filthy, there was a scuff on the paint work which wasn’t advertised, it had a flat tyre and absolutely stunk of cigarettes. I’m collecting a car advertised at £22,000!!. The car had not been touched and I’m sure the photos advertised were old photos as it had previously been in their possession. Had the car 2 days and a suspension fault came up on the dash and all suspension options didn’t work. I notified RIX Motors Warrington immediately and Chris the sales guy basically said due to the discount it’s a trade sale and they wouldn’t sort it and offered no customer support whatsoever. This is unlawful due to the consumer rights act 2015. I’m a consumer, it wasn’t bought through my company (which would have been a trade sale, business to business) The car wasn’t fit for purpose as it’s a 4x4 and I couldn’t use off road suspension. I explained my rights and they eventually agreed to assess the situation if I got the issue diagnosed in agreement they reimbursed me (I have this in writing, see below)…I did this for £65 + Vat and the specialist garage who are local to me - family run Land Rover specialists actually sorted the issue for just £15 extra as it was a cheap fix. (Bearing in mind it could have easily been hundreds of pounds for a new compressor) I agreed and sent the invoice to RIX. They refused to pay stating “you got the car at a discount price you can’t have it both ways” again absolute nonsense and no faults were brought to my attention on purchase. It seems they may have cleared the fault and crossed their fingers hoping it would pass the 30 days rights period. I again complained …they offered me my money back less £1 per mile I had covered to get a full refund. Again this is unlawful.. they cannot deduct usage within 30 days. If I accepted I would be £600 down and they have a car that’s been fixed and a full valet inside and out at my expense! Luckily I am in a family of solicitors so we will be chasing the reimbursement. Trading standards have also been notified. This isn’t about the money this is about principles. I hope this review helps you if you are thinking with dealing with these people. Not a chance I would recommend to anyone…not even my worst enemy. There’s plenty of garages out there , please pick one wisely with 5 star reviews! Absolute shambles of a dealer. This could have been resolved for £96!! Any reputable dealer would have honoured this. I’ve had a better customer service from private sellers who have absolutely no legal requirement to resolve any issues. Be careful people …god only knows what their overpriced “warranty” doesn’t cover if they disregard their 30 days consumer rights…. We all know garages make money from selling warranties, don’t be fooled. You still have 30 days consumer rights without one. This dealer thinks that doesn’t apply.
