Manufacturer Warranty?
I own an MG ZS EV, and I’ve just had the absolute misfortune of dealing with one of the most dishonest, incompetent, and disgraceful service teams I’ve ever come across. BOTH of my car keys suddenly stopped being recognised by the vehicle — a fault that is explicitly covered under the 7 year warranty. My car qualifies. No debate. No question. But that didn’t stop Phil Grove, the so-called "Service Manager," and his band of clowns from doing everything they could to weasel their way out of honoring it. Here’s the absurd, pathetic nonsense they tried to push: 1. They claimed one key didn’t have "enough power" and the other had "the wrong battery." What utter BS — and completely irrelevant to the central issue: the car wouldn’t recognise either key. 2. They said the car had no error codes, as if that somehow made the problem disappear. Spoiler alert: it didn’t. 3. They trotted out the excuse that "key fob batteries aren’t covered under warranty" — as if that somehow absolves them from dealing with the actual car system failure. Total smoke and mirrors. 4. And the cherry on top? They flat-out told me to my face that the issue isn’t covered under warranty, even though the warranty explicitly covers the infotainment, convenience systems, and driver aids. Keyless entry is a convenience system! My car has only 43,000 miles on it. This is not a dealership. It’s a con job. A scam. A disgrace to the MG brand. Avoid these liars, cheaters, and frauds like the plague. They will lie, twist the truth, and gaslight you just to avoid doing the job they’re paid to do.
