Disspointing work and response to it
I picked my car up from Sandicliffe dealership after having work (including new tyres). I did not check my car before driving away as I have never had to do this in all the years I have been taking it there for its service/maintenance. I also never expect their front-line staff (who have always delivered good service) to be undertaking checks before letting a customer leave the site. However, having got my car home the condition of the work on the tyres was pointed out to me. There was glue all over the tyres and alloys, I couldn’t believe it after all the years I’d been taking the car there. I know that my car is now 8 years old but I expect to receive the same service and quality of work they would undertake if it was a brand new car. I sent photos to them (including the fact that it hadn’t come off even after a car wash) The initial call involved having it back to the dealership, but I explained that this wasn’t practical due to my commitments. I have never minded paying well over the odds to get the quality of work I’ve always previously received but this was well below what I would have received if I’d taken the car to a back street garage (at half the price). It took them well over a week to get back to me again, by which time I had gotten on my hands and knees and cleaned the mess off with WD40. They flatly refused to offer me a partial refund which still wouldn’t have made the overall cost worth the job they’d done. They did not make me feel like a valued customer even though I have been taking my car there for years. They initially told me they would do whatever they could to resolve people’s issues to the customer's satisfaction. It seems this will only be the case if it doesn’t involve giving you any of your money back. Sadly I will not be taking my car back to Sandicliffe (however long I have a car) and I will not be buying a new Nissan from that dealership in future.
