Avoid!! False promises from sales man

Recently ordered a new Audi A1 after shopping around dealers for the best deal. The salesman was keen for the business and would chase/call me every hour or so until the deal was done which I didn’t mind. Tbf i thought it was a good price so paid the deposit on a promise the car was with another Audi dealer, they would swap with one of their cars and we could collect within a couple of weeks. We signed the documents including order forms and finance agreement and trusted things would progress smoothly as promised. That’s when things went quiet. Suddenly they were not so keen to talk with me, in fact they didn’t call me at all and ignored my chasing emails! After two weeks and little communication (and having to wait on hold until he took my call), they informed me that they couldn’t get the car! We had sold our own car expecting the new car to be ready within a few weeks so we’re without a car. The apology from the salesman was disappointing and he implied that I was the one who was confused about the order!!! He then tried to up-sell me a more expensive car that WAS available (or was it available? we had been down this road before). Don’t be fooled by the sales team’s initially professional and friendly attitude because once they’ve taken your money, you’ll be doing the chasing and in our case left bitterly disappointed and without a car! Not the kind of service you expect from an Audi main dealership. They refunded the £500 deposit which I am still awaiting to appear in my bank a week later.
