Arrogant, condescending and misleading…
I will never set foot in the jaguar Northampton showroom again - my latest experience has reinforced that they are arrogant (not carrying out promised actions or returning phone calls), condescending (making assumptions about what cars I can afford) and do not value my customer loyalty. Having already bought 4 jaguars from them I expected better than only being offered £100 off the price of Gardx (the additional paint care product) when trying to buy an approved jaguar for over £50k. I was even told that I would have to buy the tyre inflation kit and pump (which is standard equipment)! When I called to say that another Jaguar garage had an almost identical car with lower mileage at a better price and was offering to throw in some extras, but that I would prefer to stay with the Northampton garage if they could throw in some extras, they didn’t even call back - so much for valuing my loyalty… I even had to make a complaint to get them to refund the £99 reservation fee that is meant to be returned within 10 days… I also do not trust what their service team tell me - about 18 months ago my F-type went in for a few niggles including a sticking spoiler. The service assistant told me that there was a fault with the spoiler actuator, and that the whole spoiler would need replacing (at a cost of over £1,300). I asked for an explanation of why the whole spoiler needed replacing when it was just the actuator (hinge) that was faulty. I am still waiting for a returned call… I took my car to Templetons in Rushden for them to look at the spoiler, who found an area of corrosion on one of the actuators, they removed it, lubricated it, and it is sorted. Cost: £84, so I saved over £1,200 on jaguar’s misleading diagnosis. I have now purchased another F-Pace from Jaguar in Oxford whose customer service is chalk and cheese compared with what I received in Northampton - they treat you with respect, have sales people who can explain how the car controls work in simple language, do what they promise and are a delight to visit, so Northampton will never get my business again…
