Bad service start to end. Buyers beware
I bought a 18 month old car from Bristol Street Motors Derby Citroen online the sales rep doing a walkround of the car and sending me the video. I was happy with the presentation and bought the car with a PX for my car. When I went to pick the car up I rejected it as it had had a bump not shown on the video. The bonnet was damaged resulting in the headlight dropping 25mm and other dent the passenger side door. They said it would be repaired and delivered to me. They gave me a courtesy car while the repairs were being completed. At this time I asked for the service book the salesman said the service information is all on line there is no service book but its all up to date. On the delivery day I inspected the car and very little had changed so I once again complained. They refused to complete the repairs and eventually Citroen UK told them to complete the repairs which was done. I was continually checking the app but no service history was showing. With a visit to my local Citroen dealership I found there was no service history and the 3 year standard warranty had not been activated by the first dealership who sold the car. I asked to return the car but BSM refused to accept it back. I contacted DVLA and traced the first dealership who sold the car and the first owner which was a car hire company. The car hire company said the sell there cars at 25,000 miles using British car auctions as sold with no service history. No full service history can mean any manufacturers warranty could be invalid, when selling the car it will be devalued as its does not have a full service history and can lead to future engine problems. I eventually used a conciliation service who basically took the dealership side and said BSM had acted correctly. BSM never told me the car doesn't has a first service or that the warranty was not activated they kept this important information from me. Its a long story and a lot more involved but I want to pass on my terrible experience of BRISTOL STREET MOTORS DERBY CITROEN that left me out of pocket by thousands of pounds.
