I will only write this review with an intention of protecting those like me, who want to buy a car and often trust online reviews. I bought a car in November 2023, Shane was the salesman. I was reassured there was only “some rust in the wheels” and that the car had no other problems. This was a difficult time in my life and I didn’t have a lot of time to double check things, I also saw the positive reviews online and thought these people were reputable. I was mistaken. There were issues with the car from the get go, issues with the tyre, and pressure, issues with the system. Some months after buying and following an inspection we were told the car has SEVERE rust and corrosion that developed over years. This was never disclosed to us. I had bought the 2 year warranty and contacted Arnold Clark and the manager James and it was clear they were not interested. They claimed this was a cosmetic issue when clearly it wasn’t disclosed at the beginning and other mechanics mentioned this as a serious issue. I ended up selling the car they sold me losing over £5000 in the process, as I was told again and again that the car has serious issues and there could be safety issues too. This was a horrifying experience and I can sincerely say that these dealers (Shane, James) and Arnold Clarke in general didn’t care about this at all, nor wanted to offer a solution. I would personally avoid this dealership and Arnold Clark (was also informed they are not linked with Motor Ombudsman and hence any complaints would be pointless). They have sold me a car that looked great but was rotting underneath and they never accepted responsibility. This is not what you need from a dealership. This is NOT customer service. If you do find a car that you like there, PLEASE bring someone in (mechanic ideally) to make a THOROUGH check especially under the car to see if there is any rust BEFORE you commit to making a purchase. Don’t make the same mistake I did, because you’ll lose money and this dealership, and Arnold Clarke in general, won’t care about this at all.
