Terrible Experience – Avoid Carsa at All

I would strongly advise against purchasing a vehicle from Carsa. My experience with them has been nothing short of disastrous, and I feel completely misled and taken advantage of throughout the entire process. I bought a car from them in June 2024, and from day one, the car had persistent electrical faults that never got resolved, despite multiple repair attempts at various garages. The issues worsened over time, leaving me with a car that was unsafe to drive, particularly with a pregnant wife and a newborn. After driving down from Glasgow to return the car, I ended up stranded in the Northeast of England (with my baby) after all the car’s warning lights lit up, with no offer of help or alternative transport. Carsa took over a week to process the return of the vehicle, which caused me additional financial loss due to missed work and travel. To make matters worse, Carsa’s "reasonable use" charge was a joke—they deducted £2,233.64 for mileage, which represented nearly 20% of the car’s original purchase price. Carsa are now trying to sell the car for £9,980 after I returned it, whilst they gave me a final offer of £8508.38—this shows how undervalued they treated my vehicle during the return process. Apart from a couple of staff members, throughout the whole process communication was abysmal, and I felt like I was constantly chasing Carsa for updates, only to be met with vague responses or no response at all. There was also the issue of lacking garage reports, which they failed to provide despite me asking repeatedly. I’ve had nothing but frustration dealing with Carsa, and to top it all off, they’re not even part of an ADR scheme and don’t care about resolving consumer issues fairly. Do yourself a favour and avoid Carsa. Ultimately, they sold us a faulty vehicle and made us pay a premium for it. They haggled over every penny while taking advantage of a young family. I’m reporting them to Trading Standards and will continue to leave reviews wherever possible to ensure others aren’t subjected to the same poor treatment and unethical business practices.
