MJS Car Sales (Stoke) - Customer Review What can I say about MJS Car Sales of Stoke? Having just purchased a lovely used Mercedes S Class from them, nothing but the highest praise. Like many people, especially those without an in-depth technical knowledge of cars, I was slightly anxious about the whole car-buying process, fearing that dreaded "buyer's remorse" at making the wrong decision and living to regret it. Put all such concerns aside. Michael and his wife Katie, the owners, are knowledgeable, down-to-earth, friendly and put you at ease immediately. No hard sell, no pressure, just simple human-to-human dialogue. It is just like having a chat in your local pub. After seeing the car on AutoTrader, I initially emailed MJS Car Sales to check its availability and ask a few basic questions. Unlike many previous situations when interacting with so-called ‘professional’ organizations, Michael responded almost immediately with full, detailed answers. No delay. No waffle. No avoidance. I then confirmed a test drive for a few days hence. Having to travel some distance from Tamworth to Stoke (about 50 miles) I rang the office before setting off to confirm that the car was still available and thus avoid a wasted journey. Again, my call was answered by Katie within a couple of rings. I cannot fault their customer service and communications. Upon arrival, the Mercedes was parked on the forecourt, fuelled, unobstructed by other cars and pointing towards the main road. Immediately ready for the test drive. No faffing about moving other cars out of the way or turning the car around. More evidence of good planning and efficiency. The car was exactly as described in the advert and exceptionally well presented. Michael escorted me to the car and showed me the main controls - then off we went to give it a spin. A pleasure to look at and drive. Returning to the showroom, the transaction was simple, relaxed and efficient. Absolutely no pressure. Michael offered me a decent discount without any awkward haggling and the paperwork was simple. I left a £500 cash deposit. After fixing a collection date, we left - but that was not the end of the story... About 30 minutes later, Katie rang me on my mobile to say that they had 'discovered' an extra £20 in my cash deposit (so £520 rather than the £500 I thought I had left). They said they would give it me back when I collected the car. That phone call seriously impressed me. Apparently they also had two other people interested in the same car as me - one actually looking at it when we arrived - but as a gentleman, Michael waited until I arrived from Tamworth to give me first refusal. Again, impressive. One final point that I appreciated was that before final collection, Michael had taken the trouble to fully fill the fuel tank (at my request) so that I would not have to bother locating a fuel station in a strange town. To be clear, I paid for the fuel, but he did me the favour of sorting it out, meaning I drove back to Tamworth in a fully-fuelled lovely Mercedes. A wonderful experience. Michael even handled all the DVLA admin for me – registration and road tax. If all the above facts are not a measure of the honesty, professionalism, efficiency and simple good faith of MJS Car Sales, then I don't know what is. If you feel anxious about buying a second-hand car, MJS Car Sales of Stoke will set your mind at ease. Buy with confidence, from decent, honest, professional, well-organized people. The car came serviced, with a full 12-month MOT and 3-month warranty included as standard. What more can you ask for?
