AVOID

On the 4th January I went to ‘THE MOTOR GROUP’ to look at cars , after choosing a car they asked to see my up to date settlement for my current finance, I showed them it on my online finance account, they never asked for an electronic copy of this. They then falsified all of the figures (vehicle price/ deposit amount/ part ex amount) in order to hide the negative equity and find a finance company that would take me on.. they found me a finance based on their figures and I signed the finance agreement documents that evening. I messaged them to make them aware of some damage I had noticed to the car and they assured me this would be fixed when I picked it up. I was given an average turn around time of 7 days. 14th January I am due to collect the car and I had already organised for my insurance to change over on this date/time. However on the 13th they call to say it won’t be ready till ‘next week sometime’ so I had to change insurance back to my current vehicle. 15th January I receive and email to say that the finance agreement had started, without me physically having the veichle yet - I ring up the finance company and tell them to make them aware I don’t have it yet. 17th January they call to say “are you still okay to pick the car up Monday 20th 4pm (I didn’t know it would be ready but was already booked in on their system for this time) so I tell them I didn’t know it was ready Monday but agree to collect then anyway and they apologise for lack of communication. I yet again change my insurance to change on this date/time. Mon 20th January I turn up at the garage and none of the damage has been fixed which is what I had presumed was being done in the 2 weeks i was waiting for it.. they say that the woman “didn’t note the damage down to be done by the repair garage” despite me having messages from her saying “I will get everything done, I won’t let them chip you” they say “bring the car back another day and we will glue the grill” and “the dent will be cheap enough for you to get done yourself, probably about £50” “I’ll put you some fuel in the car for the inconvenience” I sign all of the documents, retained my private plates, taxed new car in my name and paid the £500 deposit. The man then says “could you email me your settlement” I do so and drive away in the new car and they then call me to come back. They said that there is a shortfall of 1600 and that I had given the wrong settlement figure, I assured them that I had shown her how much was left and she had wrote It down on paper near to her on the first day (so old finance hadn’t been settled before I drove off in the new car) he held his hands up that it has been their mistake and the sales woman will be spoken to and that the first thing she should have done is get the settlement emailed over from me. I was in a position where I had give the car back leaving me to try and change insurance and reattach my original plates on my current car so that I could even drive it back home and the whole time I was being rushed by the gentleman as it was past closing time. The man then says “ring me if the deposit money is not back in your account by 5pm tomorrow (Tuesday). They was not willing to help or compensate me in any way. Tues 21st January at 9am he emails asking for my bank details, by 5.20pm (they shut at 6pm) no refund.. I ring them up and it’s a different woman says “I will send it now” didn’t state how long it would take but I suspected pretty instant due to his previous comment about calling him in 24 hours if it hadn’t gone in.. I asked them to cancel the tax as I can’t do it without the log book, they said they can’t do it and that I will have to cancel through my bank when first payment has been taken. Meaning that anyone that is currently test driving the vehicle is driving it around with it taxed in my name! Weds 22nd January the money has still not been put in or any reply to my emails to the gentleman. So my stepdad goes in to the garage to question what is going on and they call me the liar/this is my mistake and saying that I had given false settlement figures (i had a second person with me on the day that can vouch that the figures I gave were correct) lying about them wouldn’t have gotten me anywhere? he asks about the money they say will be in by Friday.. again why would he say to call him back 24 hours later if i hadn’t received it if it can take 3 days? They also threatened to ring the police on my stepdad because he said “I’m not leaving here until you show me that the money has been sent” magically the money then appears into my bank within minutes via bank transfer.
