Don't touch them with a barge pole

We've had similar problems to other reviewers on here so I have now written to this garage and below is a copy of my letter. I have not as yet had a response. No point in going through AA as they don't infact belong to this scheme and are falsely advertising that they do. AA are going to address this issue but can't help with our problems. I am going to report them and the MOT station to the DVLA as I believe they have broken the law. Dear Sirs On Oct 19th we purchased from you a Skoda Roomster registration PJZ 4126. When we test drove this car the red brake warning light was on but your salesman said that this was because the car had just had a flat battery and as the brakes were good and the car was going to come with a new MOT I accepted his explanation and paid a deposit. When we came to pick the car up the red brake light was still on plus the abs and esp lights were on. Your salesman said that this was not a problem and was still part of the battery charging problem and that your mechanics were busy but if we took the car to our local garage they would be able to cancel these lights. As the car had obviously passed the MOT with these lights on and we were in a hurry to get back to our dogs I foolishly let this go and drove the car home. I arranged for a full service with our local garage and asked them to cancel the warning lights as advised by your salesman but they couldn't cancel them because there is a real problem with the brakes and abs system and they said the car should never have passed an MOT with these lights on. You should not have sold this vehicle knowing the MOT was invalid especially as the problem was associated with the brakes which could have put our lives at risk. Now to add to the problems the speedo has stopped working and the EPC light has come on. There are a couple of ways to resolve this problem to our satisfaction. As it would be illegal to drive the car to you without a speedo and with dodgy brakes, you can either come and pick it up and provide us with a courtesy car whilst you fix it or you can agree to pay whatever it costs for our local garage to resolve the problems. Now I appreciate that I can't actually prove any of what your salesman said to us and shouldn't have driven the car away until it was fixed and you will probably feel tempted to ignore this issue but I am hoping your good name means something to you. If you do however decide to ignore this issue I will be left with no alternative but to escalate my complaint via the AA car standard approved code that you advertise your membership of and will also report the MOT tester and your garage to the DVLA. Now I really do trust and hope that I do not have to take this course of action but I do not appreciate being stitched up and having mine and my wife's lives possibly put at risk. I am actually satisified with the vehicle in general and the price we paid for it and just want it fixed at no further expense to ourselves.
