BEWARE OF SUSPECT MILEAGE CHANGES!
BEWARE OF SUSPECT MILEAGE CHANGES! Currently under investigation with Trading Standards. I purchased a car from A1 Ortos, and after doing their own “mileage check,” they discovered a significant mileage increase but failed to inform me. Now, they claim it’s my responsibility to resolve what they call an “input error,” even though I am still within my 6-month period under the Consumer Rights Act. This contradicts the advice I’ve received from credible sources like Audi and Autotrader. I currently have an investigation underway with Trading Standards regarding this matter. A1 Ortos is not part of The Motor Ombudsman, which they don’t have to be, but this makes it much harder to address issues post-purchase. Their warranties and guarantees are handled internally, and even the warranty they provided required me to do all the legwork. If you’re wondering about how they value vehicles, they offered me 21% less than I paid just five months ago. While I understand depreciation, this steep drop, coupled with their handling of the mileage issue, raises major concerns. In summary, this is a company that does not seem to respect consumer rights and has ignored my legitimate concerns. I dealt with Marc, Jay, and Chris.
