Very poor customer service by service de
I have a Motability car that was purchased at Canterbury Nissan. Delivery was around two months late but it was a bad time after COVID so gave them a chance and waited. Had the car a year and booked it in for it's first service. Booked it in start of September for 18th of September and was told bring my driving licence for the loan car. My Motability insurance covers me for any car loaned to me whilst my car is being serviced or repaired so I was shocked to be told the day before the service that I have to pay £18 for Nissan insurance then I'm fully covered by direct line Motability insurance. I contacted Motability who told me this is against the agreement and I shouldn't be charged for insurance seeing they fully cover any car I drive whilst my car is being worked on. I tried to tell this to the person on the service desk to be told if I didn't pay it and had an accident nissan will charge me over £800. This wouldn't be true seeing my own insurance would fully cover all costs incurred. I'm just wondering how many Motability customers are being told this and paying money they don't have to pay. Very dishonest in my opinion and taking advantage of people that may not be knowledgeable about this and believe that they have to pay and they don't need too. It isn't refundable so I was told so that is a lot of money for something you are already paying for. Ask to speak to a manager and was refused so I had to involve Motability to deal with it on my behalf. I have since cancelled my service appointment with Canterbury Nissan and have moved dealership because of the behaviour towards me. I'd advise anyone to always double check with Motability if you think a dealership is charging you for something you shouldn't be charged for.
