Felt I was being scammed!

Booked a service plan MOT. Appointment was 10.15. At 5pm I had a text saying it had failed as the rear side seatbelt wouldn't clip in. Quoted £140 for a new one. Fixed it with some WD 40. Felt like I was being scammed!
