Not a great experience! Lies lies lies
Recently bought a VW Tiguan from this garage. When I put a deposit down on the vehicle I was made aware that there was a parking sensor issue. I also questioned a slight squeak from the auxiliary belt, and was told the issues would be solved before collection. Fast forward a week and the collection date came, I received a phone call saying it now had to go to the main dealer for the parking sensor and this would be nearly another week to wait. At this point I was happy with that, as I wanted the car right. When collection finally came around i was told it’s being to the main dealer that morning to be fixed. I came to collect the car but noticed the belt was still squeaking! When I questioned this again I was told by Ryan it’s the characteristics of the car and he then proceeded to spray WD40 on the belt and sent me on my way!! The following day I then noticed the parking sensors hadn’t being fixed and was constantly beeping. Not only this but various electronical faults was flashing up on the dash board. And to no surprise the squeak was back! I immediately informed Ryan about the situation and he replied “just drive it today and hopefully it will sort itself”. Not the reply I expected and I was left feeling like it was just being brushed under the carpet. I had lost confidence in the car at this stage and was questioning everything so decided to do some digging. I contacted the VW dealer the car was ‘meant’ to be at the day before for the parking sensor… And I was shocked to hear from two different staff, that the car wasn’t even on their site on the day Ryan told me!! I then proceeded to get the car checked over by a main dealer. And found out it needed various other things repairing…. To Ryan’s credit they did offer to repair the issues if I provided them with a quote. After this I started looking through the service history. After being told twice by Ryan that it had ‘full service history’ I began to notice there wasn’t much to in the folder. There was one minor service sheet from when the car had done 19k. After that it was just MOT certificates. On one certificate three years later it had written in pen serviced at …… Garage. I rang this garage to find out it’s only had a minor service again. Rogers have since done another minor service. So after nearly 6 years old the car has never had a full service! After all this I rang up the dealership and asked for a call from the owner Chris to no joy. Ringing shortly after I did the same to no joy. Eventually, I did get a call back from to Chris. And I was absolutely astounded to answer the call to him aggressively swearing and demanding an apology from me!!! This is the most unprofessional manner I’ve ever encountered from someone who owns a business. To be fair to Chris he did offer to give me a full refund without any hassle and transferred the money back as soon as the car was returned! So if you are considering buying a car from here, make sure you do your due diligence with the car and don’t take anything they say as gospel.
