Worst car purchase ever
I bought a smart car from them on autotrader on 20/6/24. It was advertised as 12 months MOT but was only 9 months. Trader told me to take it for MOT and he would cover repairs depending on cost. The next day I got an appointment at a mercedes garage and 2 weeks later the car instantly failed on 3 defects classed as major. Dealer agreed to have the repair done at a local garage. The repair was a disaster as the Flexi patched on to the exhaust detached within 5 minutes. The MOT retest said it was in worse shape and that I need to take it back to the garage. I told the dealer that I did not want them to repatch the exhaust but HE AUTHORISED THE JOB against my consent with the garage even though I am the owner of the vehicle! The retest was able to give an MOT after the 2nd patch but I was warned it would come loose again so the dealer agreed to take back the car but I HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR THAT HE AUTHORISED!!!! The dealer also did not apply for my V5C I assume because he was holding back in case he got the car back. I only had the entire logbook of the lady (including her name, address, etc so breaking data protection laws too) who sold him the car last year in my paperwork. So now he has a car with a full 12 months MOT and no more previous owners as when I bought it and he is selling it again for £500 on autotrader more but I PAID FOR THE REPAIR THAT HE TOLD ME TO GET AND HE AUTHORISED TO GO AHEAD AFTER THEY BODGED IT.
