Awful service, not worth the headache
Worst car buying experience I’ve ever had. Purchased a car around April time which was advertised as 96k miles with FULL main dealer service history. Upon viewing and collecting the car it had 97.5k miles and part service history via a mixture of independent garages and main dealer. I didn’t want that to be a dealbreaker so I purchased the car anyway. Owen’s motors claims the car has a recent service which they have electronically, but despite requesting this on three seperate occasions, it was never sent. Heading back from the dealer I had a terrible shake coming from one of the wheels, upon further inspection the car had TWO buckled alloy wheels. When taking this up with the garage they advised me to buy a new alloy of eBay and they will send the money to cover it. Begrudgingly I agreed and had to wait around 7 days for them to send the cash. I had an apology but doubt this would be sufficient if it caused a severe accident. After purchasing the vehicle it also had an engine light that would appear after around 20 miles of driving (the dealer claimed this was due to the buckled wheel?). I booked the car into a local garage and was told by Owen’s motors that they would cover the cost as part of their 6 month guarantee. After a few days I received a call from the repair garage saying that the owner of Owen’s motors when contacted had allegedly hurled abuse at the repair garage receptionist. They then had to be chased for a few days again to pay the garage, leaving me without the car for this period whilst constantly having to chase up Owen’s motors. The car had other issues such as lipped brake discs and a rotating grinding noise from the drivers wheel. At this point I wanted to return the car but the owner of Owen’s motors offered a final payment of £300 for a final repair and to absolve them of any further responsibility (despite selling the car with a 6 month guarantee), as I needed the car I agreed, this was on the 7th June and despite chasing them up all the way up until the 12/07/2024, the payment was never sent. I can only speak for my experience, from which I would advise to avoid this company at all costs.
