Terrible. Refuse warranty work.
***WARNING!!!***. Whatever you do, do NOT use Renault Stockport. As you’ll no doubt see from Dipan Thacker’s earlier review, when something goes awry this garage is not interested in the slightest. I recently had a breakdown in my vehicle which is covered by a 5 year manufacturers warranty. No problem, I’ll get it sent to my local dealership for them to carry out their LEGAL, moral and contractual obligations. Easy right? No. Despite knowing that the car was undriveable (fuel pump failure) and despite knowing it is under warranty they turned the car away. Evidently they are too geared up to bringing money in and don’t give a second thought to fixing faulty products. They said they could get it in for repair in mid August. Mid August, I kid you not!?! 2 months!?! So, because they turned the car away the breakdown company were unable to deliver it to my location of choice, meaning that it became a chargeable job to deliver it elsewhere, or incur storage fees at their depot. Not the fault of the breakdown company as it’s not unreasonable to expect a main dealer to accept a car in a breakdown situation, that is under warranty, so that they can complete the repairs. As a result, it went to another Renault dealership, to my inconvenience and it ended up costing me £301.97 for the recovery fees. Yes, it has cost me money to return a product that has failed for them to conduct repairs that they are legally obligated to perform. To add insult to injury, the item that failed was the fuel pump. It is documented on the owners forum circa 2.5 years ago that this s a known recall item, as shown in the following link; https://www.renaultsportclub.co.uk/forum/renaultsport-models/megane/141411-recall-and-service-items-rs4-fuel-pump-and-spark-plugs Despite them having my car for a number of weeks last summer when it previously failed they failed to pick up this recall item. Despite them also later having the car for a service last September they again failed to pick up this recall item. Part of the service is supposed to be a ‘health check’ but if they cannot be bothered to check for recall items, it begs the question of what other corners are they cutting? If they had done these checks this entire situation could have been avoided. There are rules set out by the FCA around ‘consumer duty’ which is why I have issued a letter before action to Renault UK and I fully intend to pursue them through the legal system. What’s the point in a warranty if they refuse to take vehicles in to conduct the warranty work? I’m sure they use the ‘5 year warranty’ as a nice little sales line but do NOT expect any assistance from Renault Stockport when something goes wrong. As much use as a chocolate teapot and as long as I have a hole in my backside I will NEVER give them another solitary penny.
