Avoid this dealer
Avoid this dealer - Very poor post purchase service. Myself and my husband purchased a car from Toni at the end of November. All seemed well and we were happy with the car until May when things started going wrong. Having thought it was just a minor issue we took the car to our local mechanic who took it for a test drive. The car subsequently shut down completely and we were told to get it towed to the car manufacturer to look at, which we done. We were told the car needed a new time chain, which we were willing to pay for ourselves and gave the go ahead to fix. Unfortunately this did not solve the issue and we were told it needed a completely new engine. This was a shock, to be told the car you bought less than 6 months ago was now unroadworthy. We contacted Toni by phone as the car was within the Trading standards 6 month time frame for the satisfactory sale of goods and relayed this information to her. We were told that we would be given all documentation to say the car was fully checked before they sold it to us. I spoke to Consumer Line, who advised that as we were between the 30days - 6month period of purchase, BRG Autohub had one opportunity to repair or replace it before we can claim a refund. We sent an email to BRG explaining everything that had happed. Giving them 14 days to respond. They have not responded to this or sent any of the promised information on to us regarding the car inspection before selling. We are now having to pay out more than the car cost or take legal action which will a further cost to us. I would avoid BRG Autohub completely!
