Disappointing Audi RS6 Purchase

As a loyal Audi customer for nearly 20 years, my recent experience with Whetstone Audi and Audi UK has been incredibly disappointing. In mid-January, my wife and I purchased a brand new Audi RS6 from Whetstone Audi, part of the Group 1 Automotive franchise. Upon receipt, we discovered multiple issues: the car was covered in scratches, had misaligned steering, damaged suspension, and 49 miles on the odometer. These problems were unacceptable for a brand new vehicle and immediately shattered our expectations. The process to address these issues was stressful and time-consuming, involving countless emails, phone calls, and visits to the dealership. It took nearly four months, until May 22, and the involvement of Audi UK to finally get all the issues resolved. It is unacceptable that a brand new vehicle required such extensive repairs to meet basic quality standards. Despite the resolution of these issues, the compensation offered was insufficient and dismissive of the inconvenience and disappointment we faced. Initially, Audi UK offered £500, which was just 0.43% of the £114,950 I paid for the car. After much negotiation, Whetstone Audi increased the compensation to £1500, which still only represents about 1.3% of the car's purchase price. This still feels inadequate considering the value of the car and the fact that I essentially received a car in the condition of an ex-demo model rather than the brand new vehicle I paid for. My biggest regret is not returning the car immediately upon discovering the issues. Had I known the appalling condition of the car, I would not have proceeded with the purchase. The expectation of receiving a flawless, brand new vehicle was completely unmet. I feel the compensation should put me back in the same situation I was in prior to the issues, which is not the case here. In conclusion, this experience has significantly tarnished my perception of Audi's quality and customer service. I advise potential customers to avoid Whetstone Audi, part of Group 1 Automotive. If you do purchase from them and find any issues, return the car immediately and get your money back. They will drag things out until you no longer have that option and then fail to address the situation fairly. When I purchase my next Audi RS6, I certainly will not use Whetstone Audi or any other Group 1 Automotive dealer. Pros: The RS6, once repaired, is an excellent car. Final compensation of £1500 was eventually provided. The sales team was polite, helpful, and responsive to emails. Cons: Initial car condition was unacceptable. Long and stressful resolution process. Initial compensation offer of £500 and final compensation of £1500 were both insufficient. Significant time and effort wasted. I don't feel I got the brand new car I paid for. Car had 49 miles on the clock upon delivery. I hope Audi takes this feedback seriously and works towards ensuring such issues do not recur for other customers at Whetstone Audi and Group 1 Automotive.
