Inadequate MOT DVSA penalties

Unfortunately a car my husband purchased recently was MOT'd by Bury Motor Company, after being inspected by my local garage, the mechanic was shocked the car would of passed it MOT due to a rotten subframe.. I called the garage explaining what had happened and asking if they would look at the vehicle again, as of course we would of never bought it knowing it required welding, but was meet but a rude gentleman on the phone who was very defensive.. I had no option, but to seek advise from the DVSA who subsequently re-motted the car and also agreed it should of failed the MOT that was only done a few weeks before. I wouldn't recommend this garage due to the above and the manner, I was spoken too. We have a family and we had been driving a car which isn't safe.. If your buying a car which has been mot'd here be very careful, do your owb checks..
