Avoid buying used vehicles/VW servicing
Bought a new approved polo in February 2022 and under the two year warranty the car needed the rod track ends replaced, the parts department were incompetent, having asked me to bring the car in early about 07:30 they then rang after 15:00 to advise that they needed to keep the car overnight although they had booked the work in to be done during the week,I had taken only the one day of annual leave, they blamed Vw saying it took a long time to get the authorisation for the warranty (having paid over £12k for the car 2019 build and less than 20k on the clock I couldn’t see this was an adequate excuse, words were had with the supervisor and low and behold suddenly car was available to pick up before 18:00 that day. The first problem arose with the spare key, there wasn’t one and they had to code a spare, they just couldn’t get that done without faffing around, after 4 hours on a Saturday I left and had to take it back another time, they do not check on you, I was waiting I. The showroom in Sevenoaks, customer service is atrocious, parts/servicing absolutely awful. Not three months past the 2 year warranty and the car overheats and I brake down because the water pump has failed (car has done about 35,000 miles only now) costing £512.00 this happened between sites travelling for work so really inconvenient and the AA had to be called out, don’t buy and don’t use them for mot/servicing because all that will happen is that you will be caused a lot of hassle and when that happens strangely you won't,t get a customer survey sent out to you of course. Terrible experience and I will never buy another VW or ever use VW services, last major service was January 12th 2024, all cooling systems deemed to be working then engine overheat and forced to pull over and lost all power on 15th May 2024.
