READ BEFORE BUYING A CAR FROM HERE!!!
I purchased an Audi from Anzor Autos just under 2 months ago, which initially seemed to have only one problem with the air conditioning. It appeared to be a minor issue that could be fixed by re-gassing, as advised by both our local garage and Anzor. However, this turned out to be just the tip of the iceberg.
My family and I, unfortunately, don’t have much experience with cars and didn’t really know what to look out for when buying one. After about 2 weeks of having it, I got the car re-gassed, and it seemed to work fine for a few days, only to stop working again shortly after. The garage suggested it might be a compressor leak. Then, a few days later, the oil light came on, which was surprising as the dealership claimed they had done an oil change and service just before we bought it. I thought they might have forgotten to fill it fully with oil, but it seemed strange, so I filled it up again and hoped it was nothing else. However, a week later, the oil light came on again, so I decided to get it checked out by a local garage.
The local garage got back to us with a long list of major problems. They found that the shock absorbers were painted over, most likely to cover up rust and corrosion, despite Anzor repeatedly claiming they had put brand new ones in before we purchased it. Additionally, there was no oil leak; it turns out there was a major problem with the turbo on the car, which made it use an excessive amount of oil and could potentially cause the engine to seize up at any time. Furthermore, the tires were made in 2012, the same year as the car, even though the tread was still fine. This made it unsafe, as they could explode on the road at any time. There were also several other problems, which the garage quoted us £2,000 to fix.
Anzor Autos carried out an MOT on the car just before we bought it, which would have easily failed if it was done properly. DO NOT trust this garage; they tell you lies upon lies, and I strongly recommend you NOT to use or trust them in any circumstance. We phoned them as we have rights within 30 days to return the car if there are problems, but yet again they were in denial and were positive that nothing was wrong with it. I’m not sure what it was, but either they felt guilty about selling me this car or they just didn’t want us to go down the road of building a case against them, so they took it back to do some of the CHEAPER work, like replacing 2 of the tyres, fixing the air-con, and actually doing an oil change. This made me laugh, as he sent a video of the oil filter being replaced, which was obviously an old one that they said they replaced in the service. Absolute joke. They have been nothing but a hassle, and now, even with some of the work done on the car, it has obviously not been looked after, so we are now selling it again. Yes, you could say you could’ve got an AA check the car before buying it, but unfortunately, it's at an awkward price that makes it hard to justify spending that much money on a check even before buying it.
Just do not trust them. They will try to sell you a car, and although it may look fine on the outside, do not trust it or them. Even when I picked it up from them fixing it, they were still lying to my face, convinced that nothing was wrong with it. I really hope this review finds someone to help.
