Worst car buying experience in nearly 50

DON’T TrustFord These are the corporate equivalent of Arthur Daley and Trotters Independent Traders: NO MONEY BACK NO GUARANTEE! I bought a KUGA off these charlatans in January, it was advertised as being a £180 road tax, after paying for it, I was told the tax was £325, on reminding the salesperson it was advertised at £180 he assured me it could be sorted out at the PO, when they couldn’t do it he suggested I write to the DVLA, I told him since it was advertised at £180 it was his problem to sort out and he agreed he would. Needless to say he didn’t, when I contacted them again they said if I sent them the V5 they would write to the DVLA. Imagine my dismay when 6 weeks later I received a letter from them saying that because of the import documents Ford Retail had used it couldn’t be changed. On informing TrustFord that I thought they were guilty of misleading selling and had I known the real taxation bracket It would have had a bearing on whether I would have bought it. Their response only added insult to injury, they intimated that because it was a £40,000 plus car the real road tax should have been £400 and because of this I was saving money, £400 road tax and definitely wouldn’t have bought it and now I’m left with a vehicle that will cost me £145 more a year in road tax and will have a greatly reduced resale value because of it! Their Customer Service will only engage by email, they won’t talk to you in person, its been a week since I replied to their judgement and its been a week without reply, saying that, all you get is “this is not the experience we want to hear of.” Their modus operandi is to fain regret and then fob you off! Buyer beware………don’t buy of these sharks! Buy from Cazoo, Cinch or any other dealer who offer a grace period, avoid TrustFord like the plague ##RE-2744##
