Toyota Yaris battery
My 2022 Toyota Yaris has only covered 3000 miles & had its services in January 2023 & 2024. On both occasions I complained that the battery would not hold its charge but fobbed off with excuses. It has been worse recently, having had to use a booster battery if it is more than a few days between being driven. I was told I must, when not using it, leave it switched on, as if driving, for one hour & it will charge the battery. This I have done repeatedly but it now will lose its charge within a day or so. I, today, telephoned to ask for it to be changed but was told it needed to be kept overnight to confirm the problem. This I am annoyed about this as two trips to Exeter will take 4+ hours in total. I am told by Snows, the AA & others that this is a common Toyota Hybrid problem. Although it is still under warrantee, with the aggravation & cost of a £100 odd if I can't leave it with them, then a trip to local Halfords for half the money is the answer. If I had been told I had to drive it virtually every day I would never have bought it. Great car to drive but garbage silly problem, which I would not recommend - I am selling it. If you are not driving it every other day or so - don't buy it! Snows are helpful but unhelpful as the car is the problem
