Worst service department in the country
Took my MG for M.O.T. and service via service plan. I noticed that the heater was not getting very hot , so asked if the mechanic, as he was driving car could see if it was hot or not. I was told that I had to pay £132 for checking this and if they found that it was warranty then I would not be charged. All I wanted was someone to just switch hearter on and see if it was blowing hot or cold air and if it was cold air then I would then pay for a diagonstic check. Dana the service receptionist said that she would phone me in morning if it needed a diagonstic check and then I could agree too the £132. No phone came and when I telephoned later on in day they said that service and MOT all done but not heater as I had not agreed to pay. When I picked car up I asked to speak to service manager. It was like talking to a brick wall. Yes I appreciate that I should not be getting a free diagonstic check, but I was not asking for one. Just two seconds as they are driving car to see if it needed a further check. That was all. As it turned out it just needed water topped up, so I would have paid £132 just to top water level. On getting home I read the service report and it stated that they could not checked condition of spare wheel in boot as the boot was full. IT HAD 5 EMPTY CARRIER BAGS IN BOOT. I telephoned Vauxhall and spoke to a person who stated that he was service manager. I believe that to be a lie as it did not sound like the the service manager I spoke to face to face earlier. He said his staff were not there to clear things out of way to check in boot. They did not have the time to do this. 5 EMPTY CARRIER BAGS took time. As I said its was like talking to a brick wall. No customer service at all. If this was first time I had problems with Drive Vauxhall Filton Bristol ok, but I have had lots of problems with them throughout the years on other cars I have bought. This has been the 6th car I have bought from them, but it will be my last. My friend also has a MG and his key kept draining the fob battery every 4 days. He was told that unless he paid £132 they would not look at it. He was stuck so paid and he was lucky that it was a faulty key, but they tried to tell him that this was not under warranty. Lucky the warranty department said it was. Do not use this dealership if you have any sense. Sales people fantastic, service department firstly need a better service manager and then better trained service personel.
