Out Of Pocket Customer

I bought a car from the East Peckham location of this dealer in good faith, paying a deposit of £200. Between buying it on the Friday and trying to pay the balance on the Monday, the car was written off (or so they say). I only found this out by chance otherwise the full amount would have been transferred. Over the weekend I had transferred the insurance (£35), bought the tax (1 month lost) and scrapped the old car which was working in anticipation of having the new car a few days later. The dealer did not even apologise and when I complained about the costs I had incurred and asked for a good will gesture he told me "not to be so bloody silly". Obviously a few choice words passed between us and he then, out of spite or because he funds his business by such unscrupulous practice, delayed paying me my deposit back for a week. Not a dealer to be recommended.
