BUYERS BE AWARE!! Purchased a Mercedes 13/7 - reported faults namely coolant level dropped, speakers and bulb on 16/7 returned car on 18/7. Repairs supposedly complete yet on 30/7 car smoking. Returned car on 1/8 collected on 4/8 stating coolant tank replaced, brakes replaced & bulb replaced. On 7th August coolant light on again and leaking. Took to independent garage and told head gasket is gone and to return car for full refund. Attempt to return within 30 days as is my right under the consumers act 2015 for full refund. They refuse to refund at first then offer a particial refund deducting £500. This is not permitted within the first 30 days but they will not accept this. They state it is a cancellation fee yet this was not conveyed orally or in writing thus is not part of the contractual terms. They will then say it's a reasonable charge for wear and tear on the car. We've driven 600 miles in less than a month. They've had the car for 4 days and due to faults I've been unable to drive it for 10 days. I've paid insurance, road tax, lost wages and travel costs. I've also paid for a garage to look at car and provide a report. To add insult to injury they now want me to be further out of pocket, with their ridiculous fees. Dispute remains ongoing and is now likely to go to small claims court. In addition notified bank for chargeback to get money back as paid with VISA. I've reported company to trading standards and hope they are investigated. Don't be fobbed off by the excuse that I bought a cheap run around and I'm complaining for no reason. I've spent £6500 for a vehicle advertised as being in excellent condition. I'm now without a car and £6500 down plus lost work and paying for transport to and from work. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS TRADER. ALL YOU WILL GET IS HASSLE AND STRESS! SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ELSEWHERE!
