Jibbed on the deal. Disappointing.

Initially pleasant. Patrick sent good video highlighting bad bits. Three kerbed wheels, which he said on the vid, ‘we will sort’. Travelled to view. Made offer, agreed offer and to refurb three wheels. While Patrick processed purchase paperwork, pleasant small talk. He asked me to sign, with the mouse, in a signature box. He printed out Terms of Sale and put it in a folder, which wife put in her bag. Deposit paid. A week later Patrick contacted, vehicle was ready. Paid for vehicle in full. Two trains to Derby to collect. Wheels had not been done, all damaged as before. Company director came on scene. Atmosphere became tense, shouty and unpleasant. Categorically refused a refund and a lift back to the station, said ‘you will not be getting a refund on the vehicle, simple as.’ Absurdly explained that wheel refurb people must have damaged all three wheels in exactly same places when delivering vehicle back to showroom. Went quiet about that when we said we still had Patrick’s original ‘bad bits’ video on phone. Then he asked did we sign a Terms of Sale form, we said we did, he said ‘where does it say we would refurbish the wheels?’ Patrick went quiet then, not speaking up to say that was the deal, and not, to be fair, passing us that document to read to underline the importance and give us the chance to discover his “omission”. Later, at home and upon checking that document, Patrick has omitted to complete the ‘work to be done’ box. There then followed a - still heated and not pleasant - negotiation regarding the wheels, which the director eventually agreed to a refund of £350. The sale documents were then processed in a very uncomfortable atmosphere before Patrick opened the doors to let us drive out of the showroom. Patrick told us he had been using the vehicle - a perk of the job - thanks for leaving us with less than 20 miles of fuel. We WERE going to make an offer on a Jaguar sports car in the showroom which we both liked but that went out of the window. I’m afraid that we would definitely not use this showroom again. A Godawful experience and I am very disappointed that what should have been a momentous occasion for us both was so awful.
