Took my Vauxhall combo in for MOT. Was given a job list of 1 new tyre, rewired horn which is cheaper than fixing the original, replace handbrake cable and replace a exhaust mount. Didn't provide a quote until the 4th day of having my van . Was quoted £1100.00 which is about £300.00 dearer than all local garages. Went to pick up and reluctantly pay this ridiculously overpriced invoice and was presented with an invoice totaling £1449.00. The invoice includes 2 tyres at £85.00 each + vat, £444.00 + vat for labour on the replacement of the handbrake cable (a 2 hour job) , a wiper arm which was broken by the mechanic installing the new horn at a price of £90.00. I paid the bill to get my van back and contacted my local Vauxhall dealership and was informed it's illegal to conduct work on your vehicle unless instructed. Legal actions will be followed up. Please don't use this garage it's very stressful to be ripped off when you have a family to support.
