Avoid Like A Plague! Most Grievous Error
I took my car to this outfit to change my car suspensions under insurance as the suspensions were weakening. I was given a quote of £500 all staff after they had consulted their parts supplier. I spoke with the insurance company and requested video coverage of the affected parts. Questions on the prices of parts were discussed with the staff and were agreed on. Insurance offered to pay £515.85 all in, VAT inclusive. After the repairs, Thurnby Motors informed me that they were unable to get the back shock absorbers as mine was unique. I was charged £350 for the change of the 2 front shocks. I was not happy with the arrangements as I knew I would have to pay the difference for the 2 rear shocks. I was asked to use the car as the rear shocks were still manageable pending the time they can get the parts for the rear. I noticed some rattling at the rear side of the car so I took it back The English staff did the driving and concluded that there was no rattling even though my wife and I were in the car and observed the rattling. I took the car to another garage which showed me that the rear driver's side of the shock absorber had leaked profusely and was very bad. I spoke with a Mitsubishi dealer in Hinckley who informed me that the part was available and could be delivered the following day as it was already 3:30 pm. I called Thurnby Motors and spoke with Milesh that I was buying the shocks which would be delivered to their workshop the following day. He informed me that he wouldn’t be in that following day which was Thursday, however, other staff would be able to assist. I paid for it and asked to be delivered to Thurnby Motors. On delivery first thing the following day, I drove to the outfit to inquire when this could be done, the man informed me that he was a man down and could not give me attention until the end of the following week and walked out of the office on me. I sent a text to Milesh, inquiring when the repairs could be carried out, but he’s yet to reply or respond. The single shock absorber I purchased from Ashby & Mann Ltd. cost me £167.30 with delivery and £105 to fix by DSR Autos the next day, how could Thurnby Motors have quoted £500 all in (for parts and labour)??? It’s obvious they do not know what they are doing or ………………. Never, and I mean never will I step foot in that outfit again even if they were to be the last mechanic on Earth. To all their patrons, exercise your patronage with caution!!!! This repair part of the outfit will destroy the image of that outfit, I can never recommend, once beaten, twice shy!!!
