Premium brand, Basic experience.

Following the recent purchase of my Jaguar i-Pace (fantastic car, well built and amazing to drive). The sales team were very keen at the beginning of my purchase of a 2 year old i-Pace. The initial pitch was good and I was happy with the deal late December 2023. There was a number of email following up the sale and completing the purchase, even paying the deposit all these were very swift to be replied to. On collection the sales team were represented by another colleague from the 'other area', I guessed the Land Rover side and I was told they don't have electric cars and would help as best they could. I had to work out the car was in the display areas as I was not shown it on arrival, just taken to sign paperwork. I had not yet seen it in the garage as it was moved from another site in the south. I spent a brief amount of time looking at the car and asked some basic questions. This being my 1st electric car I would have thought there was at least a basic amount of show and tell that would be useful to know when transferring into this new type of vehicle. (I really do think this type of laziness is part to blame why so many people are returning these vehicles and prices are plummeting). The salesperson looked inside the car to work out how to open the charging flap to give just 1 example of half a dozen of embarrassing remarks made by the assistant. I cannot imagine buying this same vehicle 2 years earlier for £74k and having this type of experience let alone the less than half its value price that I paid for it? The following few days I had to chase up some, yet to be resolved issues. The car had been protected with an Autoglym product at quite an expense as we have a young child and wanted to insure against accidents. The clean should have been a detailed covering of all the car in and out, it was soon very noticeable that this detail was far from that. The car has quite a lot of polish marks, various areas like the lower parts of the exterior door, inside the doors, trim on the boot. All of this is still very visible some 6 weeks on as I wait a response from 2 chasing emails that are over 3 weeks old. (Yes, it is the same email address that was very efficient at the payment stage!). There were a lot of stone chips on the bonnet, 5+ marks that were obvious and should have been done during the prep stage. I clearly noticed them on collection and pointed them out, to be offered a touch up stick. I did reflect on this offer and a few moments later said that is far from good enough. The car was less than 2 years old and I had not seen it at this point so would it to be as described to me, very good condition! I have read through some of the other reviews and would probably have gone elsewhere if I had read them 1st. This is the main reason for me wanting to post on a few sites to allow others the choice that is to go where you feel you will get the best service for what you are paying for.
