Please Avoid , Mercedes Benz Reading". Very Unprofessional, Untrustworthy, I recently had an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience with Mercedes Benz Reading, which has left me questioning the professionalism and integrity of their service. My ordeal began on November 2nd, when I dropped off my Mercedes C300H with a diagnosed brake vacuum pump issue. To begin with, three independent assessments by AA, Halford Auto Centre, and my local garage all pointed to the same diagnosis: a faulty brake vacuum pump. Armed with this information, I entrusted Mercedes Benz Reading with the repair. Little did I know that this decision would lead to a series of regrettable events. Firstly, the communication from the service department was woefully unprofessional and unfriendly. The initial call, received at 5:30 pm on the same day, informed me of an alleged wiring issue. Despite my repeated insistence that the problem lay with the brake vacuum pump, the technician proceeded to strip the vehicle for further inspection, incurring a diagnostic fee of £750. After three days, they finally confirmed that the wiring was, in fact, fine, but a relay and the brake vacuum pump needed replacement. This information came at an additional cost, and I was left to cover the diagnostic fee, parts, and labour charges. Communication breakdowns persisted, with repeated calls to the service department going unanswered and messages left with reception ignored. The ordeal dragged on for a total of two weeks, during which I incurred more than £1200 in taxi expenses due to the unavailability of my car. It wasn't until after numerous inquiries that Mercedes Benz Reading provided a loan car, only to notify me later that the tax on the loan car had expired. Subsequent messages threatened to report the vehicle as stolen if I did not respond promptly. On the last minute I have charged extra money for the repair which was never explained or discussed with me. This entire experience has been nothing short of a nightmare, with a profound lack of professionalism, unresponsiveness, and an apparent disregard for customer satisfaction. I would caution anyone considering Mercedes Benz Reading for their automotive needs to thoroughly evaluate other options to avoid the stress and financial burden I endured.
