Absolutely Appalling

I bought a car from this garage on Saturday 21st September. This car was advertised as immaculate condition - got there and there were scuffs on the front bumper, rear bumper, front trim paint was coming off, dent in the boot, hole in the seat, the trim around the radio was coming off. HOWEVER, because my partner works in the motor trade he knows people and was able to get all this work done cheaper so we asked for some money off and the garage reluctantly offered £100 back, because I was in-love with (besides the damage) the car we accepted it. My partner test drove the car and there was a knocking coming from underneath the car and they came back and had to resolve this. Once we sorted everything and the paperwork was done, we set off on our way. My friend and I were driving back in this car and no more than 10 minutes there was a knocking from the rear right wheel. This started off only to happen when breaking - I rang my partner to tell him and he told me to pull over at the services. As we carried on driving it wasn’t making the noise when breaking, BUT STARTED TO HAPPEN CONTINUOUSLY UNTIL I WAS BREAKING! So when we pulled up my partner got in the car and heard the noise and called the garage. The garage was less than helpful and literally said “if you don’t like the car bring it back” not offering to help look into it so I can still take the car - quite frankly didn’t care and didn’t want to help. So my partner just said to me to get it home and we will look into it. Further down the journey it was getting worse and happening when turning right even slightly. When we got back to where we live (NEARLY THREE HOUR DRIVE) we took it to his work and they put it up on the ramp, nothing looked out of the ordinary. So they went to take the wheel off and you’ll never guess.. THE WHEEL WASN’T TORQUED UP TIGHT ENOUGH. Some of the wheel bolts were loose. Now quite frankly without saying, that is not safe. I had a near 3 hour drive and it was like that. Not only was my life at risk but my best friend’s life too. Plus everyone around me was at risk too. If something so simple as making sure all the wheels are torqued up for basic safety cannot be made before a sale of a vehicle - this garage should not be open and running. The guy never wanted to help from the get go, the sale was already done (finance was already set up) so you could tell there was no care about the customer. I would stay away from this garage. Not helpful and do not care about their customers in the slightest. Although my partner for the work done cheaper than usual; I was given a £100 refund and the work has costed £280. Absolutely appalling. Would give a 0 rating if I could.
