Beware Rix Motor Company!
Beware! Rix Motor Company denies customers’ legal rights The Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires that second hand cars sold by dealerships are fit for purpose, as described and of satisfactory quality. If they are not, the Act gives customers 30 days to reject the vehicle and be refunded. I bought a car from Rix Motor company and within four days the coolant reservoir was empty. When coolant was refilled the level continually decreased. I went back to Rix and they said the car needed a new water pump. However, when they replaced the water pump the problem wasn’t solved. I have many dated photographs documenting the declining engine coolant level. Because the car remained seriously flawed I told Rix Motor Company I was rejecting it as is my right under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and would require the refund that Act entitles people to. They have denied my legal right and will not take the car back. They have also alleged that the declining coolant level is due to my having travelled 2000 miles since the Sept 9th 2023 purchase and/or ‘driver error’. I wonder what type of driver error would cause coolant to drain so quickly?! The suggestion is, of course, ridiculous. By denying my legal rights Rix Motor Company has left me with no option but to undergo the cost and delay involved in taking them to court while the car lies unused. This is a very difficult and stressful situation to be in. I have written this review to warn other people. I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through the same difficulty, cost and stress. For your own good, please avoid Rix Motor Company.
