Poor service
Bought a car here last March and at the time did not check if the air con was working, my fault. Just before the 3 months warranty had expired I took the car there as the air con was not working. Was told the condenser was damaged and it would cost £650 to replace and found the way I was told this very strange, specially a comment made 'oh £650 to replace the condenser, unlucky!' I paid the £48 for the diagnostic and said I was going to think about it. A few days later I decided to take the car to Sywell Garage for an air con test. I did not mention a test had been done before. It turns out the air con only needed a re-gas and the bill was £140! I then confronted Newman & Reidy and they kept insisting that I take the car there for them to test it again! I refused as I had lost all trust in them. I offered to wait for 3 months on the following terms: * If the air con was still working they would repay me £48 + £140. * If it was not working they would not need to repay anything. I also offered that they could repay me the £48 immediately and that would be it from my end. I was not surprised that they decided to pay me the £48 instead of waiting 3 months. It has now been well over 3 months now and the air con is still working perfectly, so I guess they saved £140! Be very wary when dealing with Newman & Reidy, that's my advice!
