Avoid!!
Absolutely shocking customer services. I would avoid totally buying from these dealers. In June I brought a car from them at the time I questioned whether they were going to service the car or not as the yearly one was overdue. The seller was adamant that due to the millage it didn’t warranty needing one. I pointed out that the general rule was yearly or every so many miles, which ever came first. But the seller was very persuasive it didn’t need one yet! So, they Mot the car, I picked it up. Few weeks into having the car I heard a terrible squeal coming from it. Luckily, I had paid out for the pititful 3 month warranty they do! Phoned the company, was told to phone up the garage they use (We Fit). I did and they were extremely rude and upset immensely to which I phoned ACOS back and they were also very abrupt and had me in tears, asked for them to sort it out. Nope! , I had to so told them I was not ringing We Fit back and explained so was told to phone Proudlocks up. I did and they were nice and booked car in, with giving me a lift home etc. Anyway, they changed the Break Pads as they were badly worn and noticed that the Tyre was on back to front so changed that. Basically, the car should not have passed the MOT, So the Peacehaven garage that ACOS used is shocking! I had grave concerns and put the car in for a service from a wonderful garage that I have used for years in Newhaven as the car didn’r feel right and asked them if they could thoroughly check it over. Luckily for me I did! Not only were the brake discs below minimum, the inner rack joint had a lot of play in it, o/s top mount was notchy, the coil spring was not seated correctly o/s/f, the battery was bad, and in the coolant system there was radweld in it. Another conversation with Affordable cars of Sussex was told to drop the car to them, find my own way home and they would assess it (even though they have stated previously not mechanics) so after once again a difficult conversation it was booked in to Proudlock for the following week, Sent email to Proudlocks so they knew what was going on with the car in advance. The car was picked up, I had a call from Grant the same day about 11am saying that it looked like the main head gasket had gone. They would phone me back later the afternoon. I ended up phoning back after not hearing anything. Was told that without my permission the car was moved to the ACOS Newhaven site and was waiting for the director to come down to look at it which wouldn’t be till the next day. I called the next morning after not hearing anything to be told the director was on his way and he would call me. Was told, yes the head gasket needed repairing etc but instead of repairing the car I was told they would reimburse me only for the car and a few days later at that… I explained that they should never have sold the car in the first place and the fact that they were adamant about not doing the service and tried to persuade me not to, the fact that it should never have been put through the mot was absolutely shocking and it could have been serious! Because of them, I had to cancel a hospital appointment, a pre-booked holiday to see someone I haven’t seen for 5 years! I had lost out on a insurance admin fees, cost of the fuel that was in the car still, Vehicle tax costs, the loss of the money to pay for the service of the car. I am now stuck with trying to find help to get my daughter back to Uni on top of it all… When I explained all this to them, Jay replied saying that he can take the cost of the car mileage I have used away from the reimbursement. Not even considering that the car has been in the garage a few times and those days I have lost out also… I have lost a lot of money because of these people, caused a lot of ill health as well.
