WORSE EXPERIENCE OF ANY DEALERSHIP
October 2022 I order a new model BMW M2 G87 Several months later when I’m online to bmw chat they inform me of a discrepancy, the car has the wrong interior, BMW uk advised me the configurator had pulled the wrong details through, I’m advised to speak with the dealer Sytner Bmw Nottingham, I did exactly that and was confronted by the sales manager, from the onset I got the impression he wasn’t really going to help solve the matter and this was very true, the error wasn’t due to my fault yet the sales manager gave me 2 options both costing me more money, I advised the sales manager that I would contact BMW UK head office to get them to sort the matter out because I should not have to pay any additional costs and the manager replied in a sarcastic manner, YOU DO THAT, I found this particular sales manager to be unhelpful and very unprofessional. June 2024 my car arrives and I call into the dealership and everything is agreed and the car is in the bay opposite the showroom whilst they carry out the pdi, couple days later whilst I’m passing I call in unexpected and my car is now in there showroom for everyone to climb over and sit inside it, I express my concerns over it being in the showroom to the salesperson whom I had originally placed the order with, on inspection the interior drivers door card was badly marked and also the trim on the door sill, no doubt this was caused from people getting in and out the car, there shoes making contacted with the trims. The salesperson said the interior damage would be sorted. June 30th collection day, I asked the salesperson by email had the damage trim issues been resolved and he confirmed they had, on arrival at Sytner Bmw Nottingham to collect my brand new model M2 g87 I open the drivers door to be confronted with the damaged trim and what made matters worse, they had tried to clean the marks on the door card with some strong cleaner and by doing so they had now removed the colour from the door card leaving it stained, so in essence the salesperson lied to myself, in fact they made it look a total mess, i leave the dealership and drive my new m2 home feeling extremely disappointed. On arriving home I’m contacted by one of Sytner contractors whom carries out trim repairs and he advises they will respray the door card, they can’t guarantee it will match the other side 100% obviously I refuse this after all this is a brand new car, Something about the registration caught my eye, I can’t remember the registration having a letter Z, turns out they actually put the wrong registration plates on the vehicle and let me drive away, the registration number plates they put on my new M2 was confirmed by dvla for a BMW G31 530E m sport, good forbid if anything had happened because legally I wasn’t insured, I also had to drive back to the dealership in another vehicle to collect the correct registration plates. Total disaster, it spoilt that new car feeling, the interior damaged panels had not been replaced, it felt more used car, I couldn’t even bare to drive it, I felt that disappointed and so I sold it to a another dealer at a loss with only delivery miles 3 weeks after taking delivery. I emailed the head of business about my experience and the failings and the reply I received felt faux, the reply was focused on repeatedly apologising, over and over again and tbh over - apologising only dilutes a true apology, if the head of business was really concerned surely it would have felt more personal if he had taken 2 minutes out of his busy schedule and called myself instead he repeatedly apologised for there errors - failings and damage caused to my vehicle and offered me a free running in service. I feel they should not be allowed to retail M-cars as they don’t appreciate the aspects of the this particular model.
