Purposely selling faulty Transit

I recently purchased a 6 month old Transit from Vanwise. The delivery driver handed me the keys and when I tried to start it, it completely died. Vanwise got the AA out to inspect the problem and when the technician arrived he said they had been called to a ‘bubbling, smoking battery’ the day before so the batteries were swapped over. When the technician inspected the new battery it had warped out of shape from the heat so he, quite rightly, refused to install yet another battery on it while this electrical problem still persisted. I spoke to Darren in the office and told him that I had refused delivery but that the driver had already left site. Darren said he would get it collected. A day later, and still £41,000 short, I spoke to my broker and asked him to get in touch with Darren to process my refund. Darren then said that he thought that I was organising recovery back to their depot! On what planet is that down to me to recover a vehicle that isn’t owned by me? He’s just staving off giving me my money back, which is having a lock on effect with my logistics network. Vanwise knowingly sold a van which had an electrical fault, powerful enough to melt a battery and is now withholding money. Avoid this company like the plague.
