Inadequate information

I travelled 58 mile round trip to view a car. Gavin advised me to look at a different one and in all honesty it was a much better in both condition and value. I told him it was a second car for myself as l wanted to keep my present one for camping purposes. Asking me for £100 deposit he activated the machine l paid via Bank card and then he started to do the written paperwork. Nothing at all was mentioned regarding the deposit prior to me paying nor after my paying . After realising that the extra insurance and road tax amounts were not realistic as l would be the only driver of the two vehicles l rang Gavin within 24 hours to say l didn't think it was wise to continue with the purchase. He was polite and understanding but l then discovered that the £100 was not refundable it's on the paperwork that I had NOT been given to read prior to paying Within 2 day's the car sold l text Gavin saying that as it had sold very quickly l would appreciate part refund l haven't received a response after nearly 3 weeks. Ironically I went to this garage due to them having many good reviews yet reading back another female say's she'd asked them to reserve a car for a few days yet they sold it prior to her visiting. Car lsma response was it's not a true reflection she was asked to leave a £100 refundable deposit to reserve the vehicle - she didn't. But it says: As a company we always ask for a REFUNDABLE holding deposit to reserve.
