Why is it that this kind of dealership performs so accurately to their stereotypes??? 150 mile round trip and the car wasn't ready despite three emails. When I arrived I was pounced on by 4 guys who squirted soap all over my car before I could stop them! So car wasn't ready, I was handed a key and told to go and look for the car. Car unlocked from the fob so looked in boot. Filthy and missing the spare. No attempt at cleaning inside or out, which turned out to be similar to the rest of the car. Then sat in the car and the only key didn't fit in the lock. Then the driver's window opened by itself. Salesman said 'this has never happened before' and then forced the key into the lock several times before it would go in. Lo and behold the battery was flat. I asked him whether it need a new battery and he said no just a re-charge. I know that a fully discharged battery on an old car needs replacing 100% of the time yet he was quite happy to lie and claim otherwise. He jumped the car, and then told me that there had been a replacement engine 5 years before. He tried to tell me that this is a good thing, but let's face it, could there be a less enticing bit of news on a second hand car? I then told him that I had been in the trade years ago and that didn't stop the lies. The alloys were all kerbed and the paint was flaking off from all of them. He claimed this was 'acid' but they had been crudely sprayed with an aerosol. How these dealers are still in business is beyond me as I'm guessing that this is just a typical day in the office. All in all a sour experience with no apologies, I assume that someone without such a keen eye will be sold that bag of nails.
