I purchased a Ford Smax in 2014 and was told that it was given a gold warranty with the car. On my way home to Cumbria the car kept stalling so I returned it. I received a call a few days later saying that it was repaired and because of the warranty I could have the car repaired at any local garage in future. The fault was still present so I informed Car max and took it to my local dealer who refused to honour the warranty as the ECU had been tampered with and did not belong to the car. I returned the car again to Leeds and the had a injector replaced which solved nothing. I had the car inspected and the egr valve was faulty which I had replaced at my own cost as I was sick of travelling to Leeds and getting the car back in the same state. 10 months later I had to replace the gearbox at which point I have sold the vehicle after 12 months of ownership for just over half of the original cost. Worst car I have ever had the misfortune to own
