I contacted Smart of Lincoln following puchase at an independant dealer of a used Smart car. Unfortunately I found that the locking wheel nut remover was missing and the dealer whomsold me the ar told me to replace ot and they would reimburse me. There was an urgency as I did not wish to be in a difficult situation if Imhad a puncture. Rang Smart of Lincoln as first point of contact after all they should know all about Smart cars and be best positioned to assist. Having given the parts department all details including the special code no ( Julian no) I was told they don't make the key anymore so we advise you bring the key in have the wheel nuts cut off the car which is about one hours labour at ninety pounds plus around another £60'for the new bolts etc. Dealer would have to check to see if he could get bolts in and then see when they could fit the car in. My second call was to locking wheel nuts uk and a couteous knowledgeble and helpfull lady answered the phone and having explained my predicament and gkven her the security no said. Yes we can get a key for you sir when do you need it for. Having decided on next day delivery option I parted with £57 and the new key is on its way from the manufacurers in Germany DHL tracked. I am sorry but Smart of Lincoln by not being very Smart have lost my business and I will use an independant from now on.
