Worst Experience Ever
If I could give zero star rating I would. We bought our van early March 2023. Our lovely Lunar Venus was delivered on 1 April 2023. We had our first and only trip out over the Easter Holidays. We were new to caravanning and towing, Noticed the caravan was bouncing as if going to hit car when braking. We just thought it was us as we were not used to towing. The brakes were screeching metal on metal. Staying in the caravan we noticed the floor was bouncy and it smelt damp. My partner suffers with Asthma and used 2 inhalers over 2 days . We booked it back in with Glossop Caravans to find the 122 point pre delivery check had not been completed. It needed new Brakes, had major flooring damage and 50% water damage) We found out about the water damage the day before we were due to pick it up to go away for first Bank Holiday in May. We were told we could take it and use the caravan but we would need to bring it back. The Caravan needed taking apart and rebuilding which would take weeks to repair. We did initially agree to have it repaired. When we arrived to collect we realised it was very damp and it was impossible for an asthma sufferer to stay in. We then asked for an exchange. We found a caravan but it was £985 more than our Lunar. Glossop also wanted us to pay for the motor mover to be exchanged. We didn’t really have much choice to exchange it with. Rather upset deflated and realising we could not go away that weekend as planned . We handed the caravan back as we were still within our 30 days on 28 April 2023. We go to purchase another caravan over the weekend to find Glossop Caravans have not refunded or sorted the finance. We were still paying for something we did not have. We have had a terrible experience with this company. The 122 pre delivery check seems to be nothing but a sales ploy! We have been made to feel like our whole experience it’s our fault and the after care and was horrendous. If we were not lucky enough to have noticed the damage we would have been stuck with a caravan because I’m sure they wouldn’t have taken it back outside the 30 days. Also if you are part of the LGBT community as you will be discriminated against. My partner is Transgendered and was laughed at, discriminated against with staff singing inappropriate songs and misgendered every time they contacted Glossop Caravans by telephone. We now have no caravan and accessories we have spent hundreds on. An Alko wheel lock that won’t fit another caravan. Out of pocket for money paid on pre booking sites with the caravan club. All in all the worst customer service experience EVER experienced in my life.
