Awful!

Drove and hour and a half to view a vehicle. I specifically wanted one of these as it is 4 wheel drive and has a tow bar for my caravan. On arrival it was dark and I took the vehicle for a test drive and it felt hugely underpowered and slow. The rest of the car looked very good for its age and mileage. The gentlemen seemed very annoyed when confronting him about the issue with a response of “it’s just an old car they are all slow”. I knew there was something not right with it so having that in mind he said if it needs anything like a turbo he will just do it as it comes with a months warranty regardless. Having that in mind, after travelling so far and desperately needing a 4x4 as I have horses I took the vehicle away. Within 2 days I messaged the seller and said it’s getting slower and slower to the point where I was holding up traffic on A roads down to 40mph in national speed limit roads and it would increase in power. He replied and said to take it to a garage of his that was still an hour from my home. I booked the morning off work and headed to the garage. The mechanic drove the car and said it’s definitely underpowered and needs looking at. The mechanic said to ring the garage you bought it from and they will give you a courtesy vehicle and book in my car to have it fixed. Since then I have tried calling and messaging the garage and never get a reply or calls back. I am currently going through solicitors as the car wasn’t cheap for what It was and I paid a premium expecting that from a garage it would be a good example. They have took the money and ran. I hate to be that person that goes legally however to not honour what they said and not even return calls shouts the fact they knew there was a problem with the vehicle.
